My current theory... :)
Dark Matter and its counterpart Dark Energy are the fabric of the Universes, as in plural. It would naturally have a repulsive force nature to avoid collisions. So in a typical anthropic description we exist because it exists. (That's the short version)

I was a bit disappointed...
one of the things that I noticed before she actually stated it was how closely their efforts to find WIMPs resembled efforts to pin down the neutrino. It makes sense of course, filter out all the noise and set experimental gear up to measure low interacting particles (deep underground, huge tanks of water, etc). It was also interesting that she mentioned such a facility in Anarctica which she didn't get to visit...she was baiting folks like me...mentioning 'outre' theoreticals.
She didn't touch Dark Energy...she did mention it was 'repulsive' in nature (how disgusting it is) but I figured what the heck, that leaves my current theory as the leading candidate... :)
