If unemployed work full-time for benefits, why not give them job with contributions?

It may seem to be logical to say that the unemployed must work full-time for their benefits but think about it a bit. If they have full-time jobs to give these people, why don't they give them the full-time job and pay their contributions and allow them some dignity? Is this a long-term plan to avoid giving people pensions?

So how are they meant to be actively looking for work if they are to busy working full time for �75 a week benefit ?
So we will have slave labour then. !

Also what is going to happen to the employed , will a business bother employing people when they have the ability to offer positions for the job centers unemployed ? I think it is utter madness !!

Now I think we should have the unemployed volunteering with skills that they have in community programs . Helping old people, the sick and the like . But putting them to work for big business is just too easy for manipulation and exploitation !!!

Although, Daily Mail are without a doubt the most proficient uk "news" paper at terrifying the population with excessive exaggeration. Take with a cargo container of rock salt.

seems to me that they will be hoisted by their own petard, as in if they make them work an eight hour day the law as it is requires they are paid the minimum wage, so it will cost them more than the benefit?

I would have thought they'll roll out a clause for that alongside. There's no way they will be frivolous with their fiat currency unless it is for their own self gain or to wage war. This looks like a very convenient way to keep masses within the poverty trap yet potentially increase the GDP.

I know that like all official media the Daily Mail should be taken with a pinch of salt and probably more but often they tell people about things that are really happening when the others say nothing. I think there are some people working there who are awake.

Could be wrong, but agree with Sooz and wouldn't be surprised if they changed the law in this case.
