View Full Version : Thought Experiment: What Would Happen To Our Planet If Humans Were To Suddenly Disappear?

Unless something really catastrophically happens overnight, humans are of course not suddenly going to disappear from the face of the Earth. But given how humanity seems to like playing with fire — or as it may be, with nuclear and biochemical weapons of mass destruction — the idea of an Earth as we have known it but without any surviving human life on it is not so far-fetched.

So let's suppose that it does happen — that we become extinct as a species in just a matter of hours. Then what would happen to this lush, blue planet? Well, here's what... ;)

If our reproduction system will disappear add 150 years.
Same movie same time scale.

Is there an alien attack to our reproduction system anywhere ?

150 years is a very generous delay if our reproductive system were to cease functioning today, because that would mean that a baby born today would still have to be alive for another 150 years before the deadline. I doubt that anyone born today would still have the means — whether physically or financially — to survive on this planet for another 150 years. ;)

Don't believe everything people post on YouTube. :)

Besides, I don't know whether there would be an alien force trying to mess with our reproduction system, but there are definitely terrestrial forces at work in trying to reduce the population. Bill Gates for instance has already suggested that the increase in the global population should be brought to a halt by way of vaccines which sterilize the people who receive them, and of course, he'd start by sterilizing the people in third-world countries.
