The Us has no burocratic system in place anymore..

Is that correct?
So what now. people go to plunder in a couple of weeks?

Nope ... smoke and mirror parlor tricks from our bought and paid for puppets.

Only effect will be on "non-essential" portions of the government (less than 1/4th ... meaning that small portion that actually does some good).

Won't cut and paste but here are some of the basics:

From my limited knowledge, some views are to let the bloody thing go to rack and ruin. It may shake things up and speed up what needs to be done, instead of it just dawdling.

I did notice that the Bank of Panama had a bank holiday this last weekend.

Other views are that the gubbermint shutting down will make no difference to almost anything. Except for those poor souls who won't have a job now.

Big sigh....

Just wish they'd get on with the destruction instead of dragging it out.

From the link Calz posted;

19. Isn't there another matter -- the debt ceiling?

Ah yes, that's the next battle brewing. Remember that time when you maxed out your credit card? That's what the debt limit is all about. The U.S. is on the verge of maxing out its $16.699 trillion credit card. And the president must ask Congress to raise the country's credit limit.

Like the potential shutdown, this is also a Washington-manufactured crisis. And it too is being used for leverage to undermine Obamacare.

But the debt ceiling debacle won't come to a head until October 17. Perhaps it's best to deal with one showdown at a time.

And so it begins...................

A bitterly divided Congress has plunged the US into a partial government shutdown – the first in almost two decades – that will put some 800,000 workers on unpaid leave and close museums and national parks.

A deadline to fund government spending passed without agreement, and the shutdown went into force at 12.01am.

The Democrat-dominated Senate and Republican-controlled House of Representatives refused to back down in a clash over President Barack Obama's controversial healthcare law, known as Obamacare.

The deadlock means non-essential services, including some of America's most famous tourist attractions, will be forced to close.

Workers classified as essential government employees, such as air traffic controllers or Border Patrol agents, will continue to work.

Shortly after midnight, Mr Obama tweeted: "They actually did it. A group of Republicans in the House just forced a government shutdown over Obamacare instead of passing a real budget."

It is the first US shutdown in 17 years, with analysts concerned about its potential impact on Wall Street and global markets.

Mr Obama warned of the possible risks to the economy, saying a shutdown would have "very real economic impact, right away".

He said he had been willing to negotiate, and placed the blame on Republicans, especially the hard-line Tea Party conservatives.

"One faction of one party, in one house of Congress, in one branch of government doesn’t get to shut down the entire government just to refight the results of an election," Mr Obama said.

"Keeping the people's government open is not a concession to me."

"Tourists will find every one of our national parks and monuments ... immediately closed and of course the communities and small businesses that rely on these national treasures for their livelihoods will be out of customers and out of luck."

New York's Statue of Liberty and the National Zoo in Washington, as well as Yellowstone and other national parks, are among the tourist attractions the shutdown will affect.

The Internal Revenue Service will suspend audits and taxpayer services, programmes for children will be halted and up to 800,000 government employees will be furloughed. More than a million others could be asked to work without pay.

The military's 1.4 million active duty personnel will remain on duty and Mr Obama signed a law on Monday to ensure they would receive their pay on time.

The Republicans had sought to tie passing the government spending bill to a delay in major elements of the Obamacare reform.

They insisted the fault rested with Democrats who had refused to negotiate any changes to the healthcare law.

House Speaker John Boehner, who spoke to the president before the midnight deadline, claimed "the Senate has continued to reject our offers".

Mr Obama's healthcare law was passed by Congress and signed into law in 2010, despite opposition by the Republican Party, especially from within the Tea Party.

Some elements of the scheme - which aims to provide greater access to affordable health insurance for poorer sections of society - take effect today despite the shutdown because they operate with money that is not subject to the budget wrangling.

In March, the Republicans and Democrats failed to agree on a 2013/14 budget bill, although they reached a compromise that gave both sides an extra six months - until October 1 - to continue negotiations.

Market reaction was muted following stock market falls across the board on Monday in anticipation of the shutdown.

Japan's Nikkei rose slightly while in Europe the FTSE 100 share index was flat in early trading following the previous day's 0.8% drop.

Dow Jones Futures pointed to a rise on opening in New York.

The dollar dropped slightly against the pound while there was also a move towards safe havens as gold values rose by up to 0.5%.

London-traded Brent Crude fell by 0.4% to $107 a barrel as the shutdown was seen as potentially damaging to US economic growth prospects.

Much of the shutdown's economic impact will depend on how long it takes politicians to find a solution.

The last shutdown, under the Clinton Administration, lasted 21 days between December 1995 and January 1996.

The political dysfunction at the Capitol also raised fresh concerns about whether Congress can meet a crucial mid-October deadline to raise the government's $16.7trn debt ceiling.

This would force the country to default on its obligations, dealing a potentially painful blow to the economy and sending shockwaves around global markets.

If that's true, it says a whole lot about the importance of the IRS when compared to the military, whose pay is guaranteed!

I thought I would throw this in the mix LOL

MYSTERY: Top 3 Conspiracy Theory Websites Crash At Same Time As Government Shutdown

Is this a conspiracy within a conspiracy? In a somewhat odd coincidence, around the same time that the government shutdown took effect, three of the major conspiracy theory websites crashed. The websites godlikeproductions.com, abovetopsecret.com and lunaticoutpost.com were all down late Monday night into Tuesday morning. Abovetopsecret.com later released a statement on Twitter claiming they had been hacked. At this point, there have no statements released from either godlikeproductions or lunaticoutpost.

While it is highly likely that these sites simply crashed due to heavy traffic, there is speculation that they may in fact be fronts for the NSA and DHS. It is well known that the NSA and DHS do not look kindly upon those of us who ask questions of the establishment. It is thought by some that these agencies have set up some websites as a way to lure in conspiracy theorists. allowing the agencies to know about them and track their activity.

So, is it merely coincidence that major conspiracy sites crash immediately following a government shutdown? It would be a common sense assumption that government agents running a front website to target and track conspiracy theorists would be considered “non-essential”, thus explaining their sudden crash after the government shutdown. Then again, what the NSA and DHS consider essential and non-essential is anyone’s guess.

Or it could just be that a lot of people are looking into the many various conspiracy theories, which is very probable given the conspiratorial way the government has been acting lately.

IMO, it's difficult to get a large portion of Americans to really "Think" about politics, mostly they just react emotionally. But take away their SPORTS and mess with their Veterans ..... and they will notice.

John McCain apparently is aware of this as is he quoted (se below) that cancelling the Army-Navy Football Game will be the defining moment of the shutdown.!!!!

And when the WWII Veterans couldn't access a memorial in Washington D.C. - politicians "rushed" to help them.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SEE Below:

But will any of them "Rush" to solve more important issues - nay. Politics as usual. I vote for Calz's solution, let's create a whole new Reality

Article:
The Air Force and Navy are scheduled to square off in a sold-out, nationally televised football game on Saturday, while the Army has a planned match-up against Boston College. If the government impasse isn’t resolved by Thursday, both games will be suspended.
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), a graduate of the Naval Academy, told reporters that the cancelation of the Air Force-Navy game would be the “defining moment” of the shutdown.
“The apocalypse is upon us,” McCain lamented.
Meanwhile, World War II veterans who flew into Washington on honor flights early Tuesday were surprised to find that the World War II Memorial they planned to visit already had a barricade around it to keep the public out.
The vets walked past the barricades, leaving Park Police in an awkward position.
“We’re seeking guidance on how to respond,” the Park Police said, according to Stars and Stripes reporter Leo Shane III.
Members of the Park Police reportedly allowed the veterans to continue walking on the memorial site, after early reports suggested the veterans had “stormed” through the barriers.
Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle rushed to the scene. Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) and Republican Reps. Louie Gohmert (Texas), Michele Bachmann (Minn.), Steve King (Iowa), Bill Huizenga (Mich.) and Steven Palazzo (Miss.) were among those who showed up to declare their support for the veterans.

Not a big follower of political nonsense ...

... but as far as I can tell there have only been a couple "real" people who have risen to be considered as "presidential" since Kennedy (or perhaps longer).

Ron Paul and Dennis K.

Not sure there is anyone left in their mold ... staggering to contemplate just how complete the "takeover" of the usa government has been.

Mind numbing ... so have some fun with it instead of fretting over things beyond our (direct) control ...

This has all been a long awaited moment in North American history,What the big game is anybody's guess but i for one would think that they wont be able to establish a reliable credit rating and that will lead to there inevitable crash that probably would lead them towards a decade of hard times. All the dirt will come out to scavenge what they can and there true colours will be apparent for all Americans to see.

Many heads may fall and many good people as well, but perhaps its what it will take to give the power back to the people.Who knows in two decades from now what North America can become.

CIA run conspiracy websites crashing at the time of the government shutdown? No surprise there for me :D

At just under 17 Trillion USD, the US debt ceiling is still less than the estimated 32 Trillion stolen from the US people by the Fed from 2007-2009 as revealed by Bernie Sanders' website here (http://www.sanders.senate.gov/newsroom/press-releases/the-fed-audit). 16 Trillion in financial bailouts to friends of the Fed cartel (including the now BIS affiliated Bank of Libya), and 16 trillion dollars in unauthorised and unlawful currency swaps and other shenanigans. Wait until the markers on the bearer bonds the Fed handed out like confetti to their buddies are called in, then we will see a shutdown of a different sort.

In the end, however, none of this matters. The cabal (for want of a better word) has lost, and they know it. Our increasing awareness of truth and our true nature defeats them at every turn. Fear porn is for those still asleep - those of us who are awake see with our own eyes.

In less than 2 days, if the Treasury secretary can be believed, the Treasury will not have enough money to pay all its bills and will have to prioritize.

This doesn’t mean default, as interest on Treasury bonds, notes, and bills will be right up there with the military and NSA. If Washington defaults on its bonds, Washington’s power will be gone with the wind regardless of whether the Treasury pays the military.

Whatever the outcome, Washington has already cooked its goose. Washington’s prestige and credibility have been hammered.

China, Washington’s largest foreign creditor, has responded to Washington’s inability to govern itself with a call for a de-Americanized world. The state news agency, speaking for the Chinese government, said that the “days when the destinies of others are in the hands of a hypocritical nation have to be terminated, and a new world order should be put in place.”

China does not mean by “a new world order” the conspiratorial concept popular on the American right-wing. What the Chinese government means is a departure from the American world order based on the US dollar as world reserve currency and US financial imperialism.

China has clearly had enough of Washington’s hubris, arrogance, and irresponsibility as the lack of diplomatic language makes clear: “Instead of honoring its duties as a responsible leading power, a self-serving Washington has abused its superpower status and introduced even more chaos into the world by shifting financial risks overseas.” In addition Washington has provoked “regional tensions amid territorial disputes, and waged unwarranted wars under the cover of outright lies.”

China announced that it has discounted the value of US Treasuries held as collateral against futures trades, and China and the European Central Bank have arranged a currency swap in preparation of a US default.

The head of the IMF declared on NBC that Washington must honor its signature and uphold its financial promises.

Clearly, the fact that the “superpower” is less than 48 hours away from being unable to finance its red ink has made the world nervous of American financial leadership.

I believe that at the last minute the crisis will be resolved and, if not, that neither the Federal Reserve nor the White House will permit a default on public debt. Either the Fed will extend a loan to the Treasury or Obama will implement one of the presidential directives put on the books by George W. Bush. Nevertheless, the government’s shutdown and the specter of a Washington default has made a deep impression on the world. Washington’s power has been diminished permanently.

Washington’s economic embarrassment came close on the heels of being exposed as a liar and blocked from attacking Syria. Neither the American people, nor the UN, nor the British Parliament, nor NATO, nor the Russian government would tolerate another Washington act of naked aggression.

With comeuppance following comeuppance, the diminished superpower will be showing less arrogance in the future.

Now that the rest of the world has stood up to Washington, the American people need to stand up to the executive branch, take back their civil liberties, close down the police state, break up the media conglomerates and reestablish an independent press.

More Shutdowns Ahead as US Ruled by Casino Capitalism

http://youtu.be/Ibj14KzbRZE

Published on 17 Oct 2013

The budget brinkmanship has cost the world's largest economy billions of dollars - as well as the trust of investors around the globe. And it also sparked calls to de-americanize the world economy. For more, RT talks to Pepe Escobar, Asia Times Online roving correspondent.

US President Barack Obama has signed legislation passed by Congress Wednesday to temporarily lift the debt ceiling and end the government shutdown, averting the threat of default just hours before the October 17 deadline.

The legislation funds the government through to January 15 and lifts the $16.7 trillion debt ceiling until February 7. The White House budget director, Sylvia Mathews Burwell, said she has issued a directive to all government employees to return to work.

The 16-day budget crisis has subtracted an estimated $24 billion in from the American economy and triggered a flurry of criticism from major foreign lenders and domestic business captains.

As promised, Obama signed the legislation shortly after it was passed in the House of Representatives.

As indicated before the US Senate vote, Republican House Speaker John Boehner did not block the fiscal deal from moving on, and it passed by a vote of 285-144 in the lower chamber.

The measure was supported by every Democratic member of the House, but was rejected by a sizeable portion of Boehner's GOP caucus.

Conservative Republicans were nearly unanimous in their opposition to the plan, as the federal health care law -- the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare -- they so object to will go virtually unscathed after all.

The Senate approved the proposal by a vote of 81-18 earlier on Wednesday evening.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell spent previous days constructing a deal as the House failed to come to an agreement on a proposal Tuesday.

"This compromise we reached will provide our economy with the stability it desperately needs. It's never easy for two sides to reach consensus. It's really hard, sometimes harder than others. This time was really hard," Reid said ahead of the vote. "The country came to the brink of a disaster. But in the end, political adversaries set aside their differences and disagreement to prevent that disaster."

Republicans Senators Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio were among the 18 'nay' votes in the Senate.

"This is a terrible deal," said Senator Ted Cruz on the Senate floor before the vote. "This deal embodies everything about the Washington establishment that frustrates the American people."

President Obama said in a statement after the Senate vote that Washington must begin to gain back the trust of voters given that more confrontations on debt, governmental budgeting, and other issues await.

"Hopefully next time, it won't be in the eleventh hour. We've got to get out of the habit of governing by crisis," Obama said.

The US Treasury's authority to borrow money to pay down US debt obligations was scheduled to end Thursday, October 17. With no full spending bill from Congress, many government operations have been on hold since October 1.

The 16-day government shutdown has cost the US $1.7 billion per week in lost economic output, according to a study by IHS Global Insight, a Massachusetts-based research firm. The S&P ratings agency declared Wednesday the shutdown has subtracted $24 billion from the US economy, cutting 0.6 percent from the fourth quarter GDP growth.

Major US creditors like China - which holds $1.3 trillion in US Treasuries - have openly discussed "de-Americanizing" as the crises-hopping US government has become increasingly volatile to the world economy. China has introduced a so-called "haircut," or a discount, on the value of US Treasuries held as collateral against futures trades.

Developing and developed nations are equally concerned, and institutions like the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have issued several warnings.

Some US business leaders are too voicing their discontent with Washington's political turmoil.

"Most CEOs I speak to in the United States say they're seeing a slowdown in business because of this," Laurence Fink, the CEO of giant asset manager BlackRock Inc, told Reuters in an interview on Wednesday.

"I was on a conference call with many of them, and I heard across the board, a slowdown from the American consumer because of this narrative, so it's having an impact on our economy already -- and it's going to have an impact on job creation at a time when we need more job creation," he added.

Unless there is ***TRULY*** a massive paradigm shift in progress this is simply business as usual for the congress critters.

DHS is to the current puppets in DC what the SS was to WWII Nazi Germany.

Domestic army with the enemy emphasis on domestic.

For the DHS to be removed would be the biggest game changer since 1913 when the banksters got their slimy hooks back into this country.

I would rejoice if that were to be the case.

***If***, as the ambassador suggests, we are in for a series of "baby steps" then that would seem to discount any such possibility of that happening any time soon ...

My 2 cents ...
