Just thought there would be room /a place to place interesting film and short stories , to share some things that are not always main stream or ones that at times dont get distributed world wide for some reason or another. if you come across some of these please share with a trailer or link.

just of late ive enjoyed two films (i generally lean towards a little sci fi but not always.)
but sci fi or not i dont think there can be any one who could not enjoy these.

ronin i remember ''closer'' but the ''origins'' looks very interesting ,i was in a seminar type thingo and there was a guy (canadian )called deny johnson that talked deeply about the iris and its clear meaning, each individual and unique .

The 'Gulabi Gang' is an extraordinary women’s movement formed in 2006 by Sampat Pal in Uttar Pradesh in Northern India to bring justice for women. This region is one of the poorest districts in the country and is marked by a deeply patriarchal culture. The group is popularly known as the Gulabi, or Pink Gang, because the members wear bright pink saris and wield bamboo sticks.
The film was produced for Al Jazeera English for their campaign ‘Hear The Human Story’.

In China, factory workers live in dorms owned by Walmart - workers pay rent and utilities. If they move out of the dorms to live in a place not connected to Walmart, they still have to pay rent for the dorms. Workers work in factories with poor ventilation. They are told to lie to inspectors about how many days they work: six, when they really work seven days a week. If you don't lie, you will get fired. All of this to make less than $3 a day. In Bangladesh, women in Walmart factories work 14 hours days, 7 days a week and only make up to 17 cents a day.

Just want to bump Moonlight's post about Walmart a must see to all and to share,and to boycott them as much as possible.

So sad to see again another eg. of a multinational giant abusing like usual, our sisters and brothers across the borders as if they don't exist,as if they don't matter,as if their rights are not to be taken into account.

I left the commercial world of consumption long ago and only participate it to its bare necessity.Cant wait for change for those that need it so much more than I.

Thanks Tonz, I watch it when I'm down and out and it makes me feel inspired, when he says -everything is going to be alright- makes you wonder when you look at the world, it gives you hope I guess. I think its the Hans soundtrack as well it matches this subject. We are though much more. :cool:
