Superclusters – regions of space that are densely packed with galaxies – are the biggest structures in the Universe. But scientists have struggled to define exactly where one supercluster ends and another begins. Now, a team based in Hawaii has come up with a new technique that maps the Universe according to the flow of galaxies across space. Redrawing the boundaries of the cosmic map, they redefine our home supercluster and name it Laniakea, which means ‘immeasurable heaven’ in Hawaiian.

Theses scientists have tried so many ways to deceive us, can anyone be absolutely certain this isn't another deception.

you are right w.k. they have deceived us but in this study they are presenting the vastness of the of the super clusters much bigger than what we were led to believe.this type of vastness and its journey to scale is closer to the truth i.m.o. except for the use of gravity as the driving force .

I just love this visual. I often ponder on our place in the universe and how small we are in this great vastness. Seeing this, expands my heart area and then blows my mind. LOL ! I cannot help but seeing Eywa (Avatar movie) in the image of the Laniakea Supercluster. Emancipate yourself from mental slavery...

A world, within a world, within a world, within a world... to infinity. Or is it a dream within a dream, within a dream, within a dream...

Laniakea... immeasurable heaven. Beautiful.
