Along comes Saturn.
Saturn’s move into Sagittarius will have great significance for all of us.
Many of us are experiencing a very deep, persistent unease. Essentially, we feel the ground shifting beneath our feet, we cannot get firm bearings and so we cannot deal effectively with our concerns about the future. We are no longer confident that we know how world works, anymore.
This feeling is caused in part by the current status of the Saturn/Sagittarius cycle.
Sagittarius governs ideas, including and especially big, all-encompassing idea systems - like religious belief systems, philosophical, theological and metaphysical systems, as well as political idea systems, or ideologies. We speak also “mentalities” or “mindsets.” Often people refer to such systems as “-isms.”
Idea systems are the software programs that make human lives and societies run. We all use idea systems to provide structure, organization, to set goals and measure progress.
In fact, we do very little that doesn’t depend heavily on an idea system of some kind. Our need for a coherent, reliable system of ideas is all but organic. We feel lost without some such set of ideas to guide us.
Idea systems are living systems. Over time, things are added and subtracted from idea systems. Existing ideas get modified, tweaked. These changes are often made on the fly. Eventually, inevitably, an idea system tends to become less logical and out of sync with reality.
When idea systems deteriorate to a certain point, it causes widespread anxiety. The disconnect between our ideas about the world and the world itself becomes very apparent. This, in turn, causes a very basic, gnawing anxiety. We sense our ability to understand the world and find our way in the world failing.
The Saturn/Sagittarius cycle governs the birth, growth, maturation, maintenance and demise of idea systems. At the moment, and for some years past, we have been passing through the end of the Saturn/Sagittarius cycle. That is when the problems in existing idea systems are most.
When, as now, Sagittarius and the vast sea of ideas that it governs has gone too long without the sobering and direct influence of Saturn, all of our ideas get a little crazy.
Craziness creeps into our affairs. Indeed, crazy comes to seem normal. Ideas and countless things that they affect slide in a decidedly dysfunctional direction. Anxiety and uncertainty peak.
Every 28 years, approximately, Saturn returns to Sagittarius and begins restoring order to the universe of ideas. Saturn’s last transit of Sagittarius began in 1988.
Saturn will begin transitioning into Sagittarius in December 2014. It will retrograde into Scorpio for the summer and re-enter Sagittarius for the full transit in September of 2015.
When Saturn gets into Sagittarius, it will begin rectifying our idea systems, trimming back the crazy bits, building on the sound ones, and re-syncing ideas with reality. Over time, a semblance of sanity will return. The uncertainty and anxiety will abate.
While in Sagittarius, Saturn will cause things that reveal the current dysfunctionality of our idea systems. It will do so in a way very concrete and immediate way that forces us to rectify those ideas systems. Our bad ideas will cost us time, money and relationships.
In that way, bad ideas will be revealed as bad ideas and motivate us to rectify them all at the same time. And Saturn will require that this be done carefully.
I will offer only one example. The recent so-called “Hobby Lobby” decision allows for-profit corporations to refuse compliance with certain federal laws on the basis of religious objections. This decision delighted “cultural conservatives.”
In reality, however, any objective observer could see that the decision left a host of unresolved issues. With Saturn headed into Sagittarius, these will almost certainly lead to protests and lawsuits, potentially overwhelming the court system.
We can expect similar floods of unintended and embarrassing consequences wherever people rely on ideas they have not examined very closely recently, and whose validity they might have been taking quite for granted.
As Saturn makes its way through Sagittarius and then ventures out into Capricorn and Aquarius, the world’s idea systems will begin righting themselves. And so will the world and our individual lives.

It's about time. Saturn was there when I first strutted onto the scene. That time, he was bosom buddies with Uranus. The planets of rigid order and explosive chaos both vying for the same spot in the sign of philosophy... Now you all know why ;-)

1986-1987 I think .

Hi Ria, because Saturn's orbit is greater than Earth's, it's orbit is slower and it also appears to stop and move backwards because of the perspective Earth has. In terms of the 80s, Saturn entered Sagittarius on the 17th of November 1985 (at 3 am) and entered Capricorn at 1 am on the 14th of February 1988. From half six on the 10th of June (1988) until half ten on the 12th of November (1988), it dipped backwards into Sagittarius again.

In the current decade, it will enter Sagittarius at half five in the afternoon on the 23rd of December 2014... curiously around the time the Sun will enter Capricorn and thus the Sun will be under Saturn's power at this time.

SK thank you for the info, I was also thinking of the Uranus conjunctions with Saturn back then.

I have not checked dates, this time it will be trines between Saturn and Uranus and maybe with the odd Neptune square.

I thought this to be interesting as Jupiter is just ahead of it (Lilith ) and the Sun just behind, given our current press coverage.

True Lilith 27°24' Я Cancer, in House ILilith

Lilith or the Dark Moon (True Lilith here) represents the uncrossable threshold, taboos, the individual's provocative and fascinating side, including on a sexual level. She symbolizes violence and "untameability", the radical and deep-seated refusal to submit. The keywords for Lilith can be sterility, sadism, perversity, castration, sadomasochism, eroticism, orgasm, forbidden fantasies, marginality, cruelty; redemption, illumination, rebelliousness... Lilith's opposite point is called Priapus; it is the Lunar perigee, the position where the Moon is closest to the Earth. It symbolizes man's primitive nature, the horror hidden in our deepest self; masochism, extreme sensuality, impulsiveness, irrationality and excess. Physically speaking, the Dark Moon is the focal point unoccupied by the Earth: it is not a concrete body but a mathematical point.

Interpretation of the 27° Cancer symbolic degree
"Two friends seated under a tree admire a magnificent scenery." (Janduz version)
Affectionate, altruistic, and endearing character, more interested in outdoor activities than in socialising. One is endowed with sharp intellectual abilities and amasses a wealth of knowledge. One seeks harmony and values sincerity in the family and human relations in general. All occupations involving the soil, trees, and nature are deeply fulfilling. Life unfolds in simplicity and happiness. Sometimes, this degree describes strong gifts for occultism, and healing powers using medicinal plants and herbs.
N.B.: symbolic degrees belong to a branch of fatalistic astrology. Their interpretation must be regarded with the utmost caution, especially given the fact that different authors give different meanings to symbolic degrees. This is the reason why they are not included in our Astrotheme reports.

Haven't really researched this, posting on the fly....

Could this be connected? Feast of the Beast 'celebrated every 28 years'. Saturn, Satan? Found this the other day and bookmarked to look at it further and then this post turns up about Saturn.:scrhd:

Edit: And alluding to Wolf's comment that it is a female planet, the article above goes on to talk about the illuminati females are the ones with the strongest spiritual energy.

Depending on the fearsome might of Saturn to explain whether male or female is solid, but not good enough, to claim it is either. It is solid, at least as far as the outer rings, but then is gaseous, so is so full of gasses outside that the minerals in the inside of each ring tends to pull it to solidity for one part of its dominion of orbit, then in its return to cling to its original orbit it becomes so that no one side ever faces towards this Earth, but can do to some of the time zones, which face back and forth to Saturn. This makes it like female behaviour to the earlier of astronomers, and so in the early day was so called female. Later, when new other types of telescopes saw what appeared to be ghost like Gods on Saturn, their seldom seen joint role, was taked for male Gods, so what has been the task of ours is to stop linking to the Gods of Saturn, which only seldom can be seen now, as there is what we call life inside the rings, that seem in reality to be ships, but the rings are not stable, their movement tells us of the sun's winds and can be seen by the few who see, that the rings open to the sun's winds, then close when they have passed and that is what these Gods are.

So Wolf Khan's words are from the very olden dqays, later times said they were male by, but what it really is, is magnetic forces taking it to first one side of Saturn which is its female side, then in retrospect it changes to the other side, when it becomes male and now is on its way back to gain more magnetic forces from the other side of this Universe, and will come nearby us when first of all, when Jupiter becomes closer to Mars, when we will begin to solve what's solid to believe in, and that is going to be in the solid form of a goat tripping itself up, and beginning to fell like it's all there now so go get life by the Horns of the goat and take life as its seen not by what we are told it is to be as the goat leads to ram into some link to gain new life and this is come in the first two years of the rising sun on the Eastern half of earth, which should be in the next two years on Earth, and after that freedoms dawn will start to emerge, as the first of a new day to begin in April, then, after turns solidly into new motion all will feel like a new day has begun.

The Earth will then have moved to forward motion, instead of the wobbly motion it now takes, as Light begins in this section of the Universe and then seeks to find total life as the famous solar system tell itself free sailing now for thousands or more years, as Earth has just been taken to link to the Golden Age when finally it becomes a free agent again, having released itself from the ties of Nibiru, as having realised total population growth as we are too dense to now meet it ever again. In two years from now a new calendar will have to be made as we will cease to wobble and will head to our own place in the stars, for we have reached maturity now and can go on into some new life, not needing to deal with Nibiru again as it was too dense to allow some freedom of choice . Now we can begin anew as the folk on Earth want some to live as they want to, not as the first of many to be obligated to the backwards policies of the first to slave trade in this Galaxy.

Go in love and joy, as the tide turns now. go to claim new life, no servitude, no begging bowls and something not known to Earth before, freedom to think for yourself. Leave that trail behind you as we begin the Apex to new life now - go in love and peace.

From Astrologer Lynn Hayes -

This leads us to the action-packed Capricorn New Moon at the Winter Solstice on December 21st. Uranus turns direct that day so its impact is at its most intense as it comes to a standstill in the sky and beams a laser force of radical and innovative inspiration. The Winter Solstice marks the time when the light of the Sun begins to return, and the New Moon marks the emergence of the light of the Moon. The Sun has just entered Capricorn and the Sun and Moon are both at zero degrees Capricorn at the New Moon – a symbolic Brand New Beginning that will have an impact for months to come.

There are five planets in Capricorn at this New Moon, a stellium of tremendous power and proportion. Capricorn urges us to master the material world. This is not a time of navel-gazing or retreat from the world – this is a time to live fully in the world and make the most of it. Achieve success in your chosen field. Purchase a home. Become engaged. Recommit to your marriage. Honor your parents and your familial obligations. These are the ways that we connect with the world in ways that will bring us success in our own lives, and this is the lesson that Capricorn seeks to teach.

There is a sense at this New Moon of something from the past being released – Uranus sits right on the South Node that marks the gateway of experiences we bring with us from our previous lifetime(s). With all of the chaotic disruption and change in the air, this Capricorn New Moon helps that rebuilding process to persevere and strengthen.

Saturn enters Sagittarius on December 23rd, the beginning of a 2-1/2 year cycle

On the 24th and 25th Mercury (communication and thought) translates the Uranus/Pluto square as it aligns in a conjunction with Pluto and forms a square to Uranus. Falling as it does on the Christmas holiday, there is potential for debate and argument that can create a great deal of dissension at the family dinner table. Channeling this intense mental drive through games that require thought and strategy may be a good way to avoid major arguments but fortunately a harmonious sextile from Mercury to Chiron helps smooth the way to discussions that can heal and release old wounds and resolve old issues.

The 26th is a beautiful day for creativity and inspiration as the Sun forms a harmonious sextile to Neptune. Communing with nature, playing music, creating art – these are all ways in which we allow the Divine to flow through us through creative inspiration, soothing the heart and bringing magic into our lives.
