Wow Guys and Gals, can't tell you what a wild ride it's been trying to get on here today.

Logged in and not being able to post, Gaahhh! It's been touch and go the last hour, on, then off, but I'm on now so I'm going for it while the coast is clear....Lol....

Turn this up - Ya, ya, yaya, ya, c'mon, c'mon....

Live for the moment,

Breathe it in, suck it up, breathe it out, suck it up

Whoever 'they' were, they didn't kill us, we are back better than ever....

Love Sooz

"Earth Song"

What about sunrise
What about rain
What about all the things
That you said we were to gain...
What about killing fields
Is there a time
What about all the things
That you said was yours and mine...
Did you ever stop to notice
All the blood we've shed before
Did you ever stop to notice
This crying Earth this weeping shores?

Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh

What have we’ve done to the world
Look what we've done
What about all the peace
That you pledge your only son...
What about flowering fields
Is there a time
What about all the dreams
That you said was yours and mine...
Did you ever stop to notice
All the children dead from war
Did you ever stop to notice
This crying Earth this weeping shores

Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh

I used to dream
I used to glance beyond the stars
Now I don't know where we are
Although I know we've drifted far

Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh
Aaaaaaaaah Oooooooooh

Hey, what about yesterday (What about us)
What about the seas (What about us)
The heavens are falling down (What about us)
I can't even breathe (What about us)
What about apathy (What about us)
I need you (What about us)
What about nature's worth (ooo, ooo))
It's our planet's womb (What about us)
What about animals (What about it)
Turned kingdoms to dust (What about us)
What about elephants (What about us)
Have we lost their trust (What about us)
What about crying whales (What about us)
Ravaging the seas (What about us)
What about forest trails (ooo, ooo)
Burnt despite our pleas (What about us)
What about the holy land (What about it)
Torn apart by creed (What about us)
What about the common man (What about us)
Can't we set him free (What about us)
What about children dying (What about us)
Can't you hear them cry (What about us)
Where did we go wrong (ooo, ooo)
Someone tell me why (What about us)
What about baby boy (What about it)
What about the days (What about us)
What about all their joy (What about us)
What about the man (What about us)
What about the crying man (What about us)
What about Abraham (What about us)
What about death again (ooo, ooo)

Do we give a damn

Well, you tell us that we're wrong
And you tell us not to sing our song
Nothing we can say will make you see
You got a heart of stone
You can never feel
You say "oh, I'm not afraid - it can't happen to me
I've lived my life as a good man
Oh, no you're out of your mind
It won't happen to me
'Cos I've carried my weight
And I've been a strong man"
Listen to the man in the liquor store
Yellin' "Anybody want a drink before the war?"
And your parents paid you through
You got a nice big car
Nothing bothers you
Somebody cut out your eyes
You refuse to see
Somebody cut out your heart
You refuse to feel
And you live in a shell
You create your own hell
You live in the past
And talk about war
And you dig your own grave yeah
But it's a life you can save
So stop getting fussed
It's not gonna happen
And you'll cry
But you'll never fall
No, no, no You're building a wall
Gotta break it down
Start again
No, no, no
It won't happen to us
We've lived our lives
Basically we've been good men
So stop talking of war
'Cause you know we've heard it all before
Why don't you go out there
And do something useful?
Oh listen to the man in the liquor store
Yellin' "Anybody wanna drink before the war?"
"Anybody wanna drink before the war?"
"Anybody wanna drink before the war?"

Hi All,

This may be a bit early in the morning for all you up there in the northern hemisphere, lol, but it's nearly 6pm here Saturday.

Just been reading an article about Stevie Nicks (Fleetwood Mac). And where she is now at age 65 (I cannot believe that!).

Anyway, it reminded me of the music 'Tusk', 1979. These were halcyon days....going to work in an ad agency, dancing all night, then going straight to work the next morning from the dance floor. There were a few of us known as the 'rat pack', we went out partying during the week, dancing on tables, yahoo-ing, singing our lungs out across the Sydney Harbour bridge to 'Boys Light up" (band - Australian Crawl), in expensive sports cars, and generally running amok, as you do...

This night we went tribal in an expensive nightclub, in a circle, and each of us went to the centre of the circle and danced our heart's out, then the next person's turn came. No alcohol or anything like (ok, maybe the odd line of coke or two, lol). It was just before I left Oz to live and travel in UK/Europe.

Great memories! Oh my life is so sedate now. But I lived it up and no-one can take away my memories.

Those of you in the same time-warp....enjoy!

I echo that sentiment. I loved watching the faces. That is what makes us humans. WE FEEL.

I find it very hard to translate poetry. The subtleties of the language is lost in the translation. But here it is. I fixed a google translation which did not make sense, but it still helped. :)

It has been a few minutes since you left. Shadows of you still linger here and there, on the wooden floors. I open the radio, and it is you, being interviewed. You say: Yes, I love him. I open the television, and it is you again. You are shown between scenes of massacres in Iraq and news of the Canadian economy.

When I was on earth
A subtenant
Of a kilo of future
Incomplete gentlemen in jackets
Invited me to a huge disappointment

Now I do not cry anymore
I collect lives
For D-Day
And in my heart – bunker
I hit currency at your effigy

Don’t leave
Outside the paths are flowing
And the vows are made of dew
Don’t leave
Outside there are silences crowded
With buses fallen on their backs

And conceited that they are
With their bouquet of keys
And jewels of panic
They will sit you in an office
While here, the weather is nice

They will pierce the screen
To offer you a career
Where you can drown your child
They will break the laws
The padlocks and the bones

Don’t leave
Outside there is an orgy of boredom
Going to the bottom of batteries
Don’t leave
Outside I saw a sky so hard
That all the birds’ fell

You know that I read
Under the dresses of time
And on the cement lines
You, you have eyes
That betray the fate
You deserve love

Now that you see
All that does not exist
And if you want to come
Neptune will guide me
Where I sowed with tears
My weapons are in bloom

Don’t leave
I have so many friends
I cannot count them
Don’t leave
I have as many friends
As a thousand Mexico
Don’t’ leave

When You Dance

When You Dance - Jean-Jacques Goldman - Album: In Passing

I made the list of all the things we will never be again
When you dance, when you dance
But what becomes of lost lovers?
When you dance, do you think about that?
When you dance, do you think about that?

Not friends, not lovers, not strangers either
When you dance, when you dance
But what after that, after having belonged to one another?
When you dance, do you think about that?
When you dance, do you think about that?

I believe that I will need to see you
When you dance, when you dance
Without speaking to you, or disturbing you, just to see you
When you dance, do you think about that?
When you dance, do you think about that?

And all the pain, everything, against a single one of our minutes

But to to be nothing anymore after so much, it's not fair
When you dance, do you think about that?
When you dance, do you think about that?

I made the list of all the things will never be again

But what becomes of distraught lovers?
When you dance, do you think about that?
When you dance, do you think about that?

Quand tu danses

Quand tu danses - Jean-Jacques Goldman - Album: En Passant

J'ai fait la liste de ce qu'on ne sera plus
Quand tu danses, quand tu danses
Mais que deviennent les amoureux perdus
Quand tu danses, y songe-tu ?
Quand tu danses, y songe-tu ?

Amis non, ni amants, étrangers non plus
Quand tu danses, quand tu danses
Mais quel après, après s'être appartenus ?
Quand tu danses, y songe-tu ?
Quand tu danses, y songe-tu ?

Je crois bien que j'aurai besoin de te voir
Quand tu danses, quand tu danses
Sans te parler, ni déranger, mais te voir
Quand tu danses, y songe-tu ?
Quand tu danses, y songe-tu ?

Et toutes les peines, toutes, contre une seule de nos minutes

Mais n'être plus rien après tant, c'est pas juste
Quand tu danses, y songe-tu ?
Quand tu danses, y songe-tu ?

Et j'ai fais la liste de ce qu'on ne sera plus

Mais que deviennent les amours éperdues ?
Quand tu danses, y songe-tu ?
Quand tu danses, y songe-tu ?

No more tears, my heart is dry
I don't laugh and I don't cry
I don't think about you all the time
But when I do – I wonder why

You have to go out of my door
And leave just like you did before
I know I said that I was sure
But rich men can't imagine poor.

One day baby, we'll be old
Oh baby, we'll be old
And think of all the stories that we could have told

Little me and little you
Kept doing all the things they do
They never really think it through
Like I can never think you're true

Here I go again – the blame
The guilt, the pain, the hurt, the shame
The founding fathers of our plane
That's stuck in heavy clouds of rain.

One day baby, we'll be old
Oh baby, we'll be old
And think of all the stories that we could have told.

One day baby, we'll be old
Oh baby, we'll be old
And think of all the stories that we could have told.

One day baby, we'll be old
Oh baby, we'll be old
And think of all the stories that we could have told.

One day baby, we'll be old

War is good for bonding people. There are so many different nationalities in the street where I live - somalis to my left and latin americans to my right. we cannot communicate properly and part of me thinks the government mean us all to feel isolated and away from "our packs". However, when that time comes, I feel it in my water that my neighbours and all of us will unite against the common foe . . . . hey - might even find another use for that bloody great big blue container in the garden too :) lol

Bonding needs to happen without war. A bigger war to override the dysfunctions of society is not good medicine.

We are in a war, as it is. It is creating some bonding but, how tenuous? Will it fall apart once the common enemy is gone?

War as a bonding agent has been a band-aid. I see the Internet, despite chaff and chum. as the great global connector right now.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change
Courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference

I am not like I was before
I thought that nothing would change me
I was not listening anymore

Still you continued to affect me
I was not thinking anymore
Although I said I still was

I'd said "I don't want anymore"
Because of bad experience
But now I feel so different

I feel so different
I feel so different

I have not seen freedom before
And I did not expect to
Don't let me forget now I'm here

Help me to help you to behold you
I started off with many friends
And we spent a long time talking

I thought they meant every word they said
But like everyone else they were stalling
And now they seem so different

They seem so different
They seem so different

I should have hatred for you
But I do not have any
And I have always loved you

Oh you have taught me plenty
The whole time I'd never seen
All you had spread before me

The whole time I'd never seen
All I'd need was inside me
Now I feel so different

I feel so different
I feel so different

I feel so different
I feel so different

If you only listen you miss out on so much ...

God I love that song! And you're right, the video was a real treat for the eyes.

Here's a video for a song I love. It's a version that was recorded "au naturel", and so there is the occasional skewed note, but I think it lets in a degree of purity. The video features many English scenes. It's a song from an album released in 2013. I had a boyfriend who died many years before this song came out, but it always reminds me of him. He used to say "It doesn't matter where we go, if we're together, we're home." Maybe that inflates my estimation of the song, but I hope people will like it any way. People say "oh, you must have loved him" and I think "must have"? I do. Love doesn't stop just because life does.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1pLsb1YMsKE

The album version, which is printed with lyrics on the screen, is available here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPNgq4ZRxKg

I'm a phoenix in the water
A fish that's learnt to fly
And I've always been a daughter
But feathers are meant for the sky
So I'm wishing, wishing further
For the excitement to arrive
It's just I'd rather be causing the chaos
Than laying at the sharp end of this knife

With every small disaster
I'll let the waters still
Take me away to some place real

'Cause they say home is where your heart is set in stone
Is where you go when you're alone
Is where you go to rest your bones
It's not just where you lay your head
It's not just where you make your bed
As long as we're together, does it matter where we go?
Home

So when I'm ready to be bolder,
And my cuts have healed with time
Comfort will rest on my shoulder
And I'll bury my future behind
I'll always keep you with me
You'll be always on my mind
But there's a shining in the shadows
I'll never know unless I try

With every small disaster
I'll let the waters still
Take me away to some place real

'Cause they say home is where your heart is set in stone
Is where you go when you're alone
Is where you go to rest your bones
It's not just where you lay your head
It's not just where you make your bed
As long as we're together, does it matter where we go?
Home

'Cause they say home is where your heart is set in stone
Is where you go when you're alone
Is where you go to rest your bones
It's not just where you lay your head

This is one of the hardest days of my life. Plodding through this “work”, thinking about my buddy, who I will never see again. Summit died suddenly, unexpectedly yesterday. I didn’t even say goodbye on my rush out the door, didn’t scratch the belly he hopefully presented. I don’t know if I’m torturing myself or helping listening to an old favorite I am deeply emotionally attached to—Neil Young’s album “Harvest Moon”…this one is what kept running through my head….

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7d4cDMiUarA

…but “Beauty” is also resonating through my soul as well:

"a natural beauty should be preserved like a monument—to nature.

I can’t stop thinking about him, I feel he’s telling me this:

Don’t judge yourself too harsh, my love
Or someday you may find soul endangered.

Yes i do remember those days quite well Eelco, As Im still currently in possession of my first portable Am/Fm Cassette player that i had received as a Christmas present when i was a youth, made by Radio Shack. (Photo Enclosed).

Music back then was in likeness to an Xbox360 of today for me. Totally addicted to music, as i still am. My father owned a Bar here in NY in the 60s, and every week he would bring home the used 45's that weren't getting selected. The jukebox man gave him the 45's for free. A priceless gift to me. I played them enthusiastically and endlessly on my sibling shared Victrola. Photo enclosed.

I love this band/music group's stuff. It's a style that's grown out of the chill room/Ambient scene and become a progressive psychedelia. It even get's to the threshold of Rock in some places.

Even though I own all their albums as proper CDs, I still prefer this special continuous mix set. Preferably not at the reduced audio quality of YouTube but this is the only way to share it here.

Just a bit of useless information, lol....

Being a fan of Ricki Lee Jones, I read the other day that her song 'Chuckies in Love', a hit in 1979, was a song about Tom Waits best friend, Chuck E.

Ricki Lee Jones and Tom Waits were Lovers back in the day.

The last words in the song, were not true. Ricki sings, 'Chuckies in Love with me'. Not so in the romantic sense, Chuck E said recently, he was in Love with her, Ricki, as a person but not romantically.

So there ya go. Nothing is as it seems.

Raw. I like it. Doing great my friend, going with the flow. Taking the day off today just because. That's always nice. Was in a "meeting" yesterday... god I hate those, and it was overwhelming clear to me that I do not fit in there. Only 14 months to go in that job. I am still needed there for a little while, then I'm off to other things, which sometimes brings a certain anguish, fear of the unknown type of thing. Working on letting all that go.

Hope you are doing well also.

Aw man, at least you have a transition in sight…it’s scarier to me that I see no end any time soon of my day-to-day in this soul-crushing financial institution, I’m going to puke the next time I hear someone explain to me why jumping through yet another senseless hoop that most involved have no comprehension of its purpose is somehow “compliance” making our organization more secure…ugh.

If somebody steals my youtube-transmitting shiny rectangle I wouldn’t be able to handle it…I’ll sit in silence in my car (or anywhere else) all day…I think about this song a lot as I stagnate in this place, I feel like I’m in “heaven” (….the place where nothing ever happens):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-cJ0LaHLAc

Hopefully soon I can do some of this…

I remember trying to find it before...I wanted to hear the song "7" by the artist known as an unpropouncable symbol for androgyny from the period of 1991-1994 and before and after we know him as Prince...but instead I got Bolly-rolled...I love this though...so good:

So besides “heaven is a place where nothing ever happens”, the other mantra running through my head lately is from this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJRR3Ltm_sw

“now it’s over I’m dead and I haven’t done anything that I want
…Or I’m still alive, and there’s nothing I want to do…”

I realized the other day I still remember every single word of They Might Be Giant’s album “Flood” (and most of “Apollo 18”), what I hadn’t realized was how profound those guys were…absurd? Sure, sometimes…but not as crazy as it first appears…

I love that Rage song…another reminder of my youth…local band I had friends in used to cover it, always brought the house down.

I had to decline another favorite, as it is the day before and I probably can’t afford REK, I chose the more intimate venue…this guy got big when I wasn’t looking:

Hi SiriArc.
just wondering if you are stuck in a loop?
because everything you post is redirected back to old post on different forums.

if there is nothing new to add then that tells me you have reached your goal!

is it a puzzle that you see certain people are experiencing and redirecting them so they can see the bigger picture?

are you trying to help people in your post?

just trying to understand where you are coming from is all.
