A close aide to Prime Minister David Cameron has resigned over allegations involving child abuse images, Downing Street said.

David Cameron says he is "profoundly shocked" by allegations against a senior Downing Street aide involving child abuse images,No 10 disclosed last night that Patrick Rock resigned last month after officials were made aware of a potential offence.

He was subsequently arrested and is now under investigation by the National Crime Agency.
Mr Rock has also been the subject of a complaint of alleged "inappropriate behaviour", Downing Street has said.

"Obviously when I heard these allegations I was profoundly shocked and remain profoundly shocked today," Mr Cameron said during a visit to the Midlands.

I wonder how much the profound shock was the discovery that one of his staff was engaging in unacceptable behaviors and how much was the risk of discovery by proximity?

I heard on the Beeb yesterday that the guy isn't just a No 10 aid, he's a very long standing friend of David Cameron.

However, let's not be too hasty to judge this matter.

There's always a hefty possibility that the guy ( and the Cameron regime ) has been clobbered by the intel agencies for some reason or other. Any one of us could wake up one morning to the sound of a goon squad breaking in the door to take our computer and "find kiddie porn on it".

Today we've been told that the current opposition party ( Labor ) will not offer the public a vote on staying in or leaving the EU if they become the government at the next election.

The Prime Minister and his party are committed to giving us a vote in 2017.

So, I'm beginning to think the cabal are going to try to get Labor elected and dump the Conservatives.

This 'might' be a good enough reason to think that they are undermining the conservative government from here on in. The kiddie porn on Cameron's old friend's computer may have been injected as part of an op to trash the governing party.
