Amazing! Bird steals egg camera & films penguin colony from the air

http://beforeitsnews.com/contributor/upload/2980/images/p0157lqm_640_360.jpg

This is the first time ever a penguin colony is filmed from the air by a bird. Watch as a caracara steals what he thinks is a penguin egg but is really an egg-shaped camera. My favorite part is watching the penguins watching the caracara and turkey vulture compete for the “egg” like they are watching a golfing event. Too funny.

Weird Jumping Fish Phenomenon

Weird Jumping Alien Asian Carp Invade the Illinois River. In the 1970's silver carp were accidentally introduced into the Illinois River after escaping from a fish farm. The fish mistake pressure waves from the propellors of the boat's motors for the movements of predators and jump with fright. Each jumping fish scares its neighbour, causing a dangerous chain reaction.

Marvellous Malc, thanks. Erm . . . . is that Highland narrating btw? :)

Edit:

I sent the fish video to family in Canada and this was my cousin's reply:

"Hi,
They make quite a sight, don't they? It is fascinating, but in North America it is also a huge problem. Strangely, the fish (from Asia) aren't much good for eating (too bony). They are reproducing like crazy, growing very fast to a big size and eating everything else in the bodies of water they are spreading into fast. People have been knocked out, concussed, had limbs broken and even killed by these fish (they are bony, hard and very numerous). People can't water-ski or go fishing, which makes cottaging and boating - huge weekend and summer activities here - difficult and dangerous. They haven't yet gotten into the five great lakes (Ontario (where we are), Erie, Huron, Michigan and Superior) but their arrival is pretty much dreaded. I think the coldness of the waters might limit their spread further north...

Messing around with Mother Nature! She's the boss...

Take care,
Brian"

Made me think a little of the kangaroos and the rescue programmes we've had on TV recently (Kangaroo Dundee) where this guy has rescued joey's, rears them by hand and then reintroduces them to the wild with other kangaroos. In England we think it's wonderful but some of my friends in Aus think kangaroos are a scourge.

Thank you, Malc. What a fabulous collection of videos. That egg cam is something fascinating for the birds and gives us an understanding we couldn't attain without the imagination of the person who made it.

What a way to fish! No line, no pole....just go for a boat ride.

I have seen rays jump before , as it is to my understanding that they jump and slap on a school of shrimp or small fish to stun them and make it easier to feed, what is in the video suggests at least to me, is a collective effort to stop the shrimp from leaving the area and or slapping on the outer small groups as they would be separated from the pack.interesting! thanks malc.
