I understand Iran is probably releasing this info to deter Israel from any attack as they now have counter-attack ------BUT, in my mind (based on Israel's previous actions and reactions) isn't this like Iran painting a big target on their forehead? Would this have been better kept under wraps?!?! Then again, not much that happens on the geopolitical scene makes sense to me.

November 18, 2013 – TEHRAN – Iran on Monday unveiled a missile-equipped drone with a range of 2,000 kilometers (1,200 miles), the official IRNA news agency reported. “The Fotros drone has an operational range of 2,000 kilometers and can fly at an altitude of 25,000 feet, with a flight time of 16 to 30 hours,” Defense Minister Mohammad Dehgan was quoted as saying. Dehgan said the new drone could carry out reconnaissance missions or launch air-to-surface missile strikes. The aircraft was tested “successfully and shows that sanctions imposed by the enemies are not an obstacle to the progress of the defense industry,” the minister told the unveiling ceremony. The drone is capable of reaching targets inside the country of Israel, as the distance from Tehran to Tel Aviv is only 985 miles (1589 km). The idea of such a weapon in the hands of terrorists, committed to the destruction of the Zionist state, is a nightmarish thought that is sure to get Israeli leaders up at night. In recent years, Iran has launched an ambitious drone program, causing worry in the United States and the West. In late September, the elite Revolutionary Guards announced the mass production of the “Shahed 129” drone, which it said has a range of 1,700 kilometers, is capable of carrying eight missiles and can fly for 24 hours. In the same month, Iran unveiled a reconnaissance drone named “Yasseer,” which was said to be capable of flying for eight hours with a range of 200 kilometers and at an altitude of 4,500 meters. Yasseer was based on the US ScanEagle drone, a model of which Tehran claimed to have captured in December 2012 and reproduced since then. The Iranian army also recently boasted that it was producing a series of drones called Rad-85. –Yahoo News TEP

They already have a big target on their heads, the thing with drones is that they could be launched off a strip of road anywhere, unlike facilities of the sort Israel bombs, so they lose nothing by speaking.

What with Saudi Arabia joining forces with Israel Iran need every deterrent they can get their hands on, and they need everyone to know so that the citizens of Israel will beg their leaders not to attack Iran because they will be the ones who pay for it, with more than money.

The Saudis have supposedly bought nukes off the Pakistanis too.

Yep ... and Iran has brought down the latest drone technology from the west ... with some time to back engineer it (possibly).

Meanwhile back in the desert:

November 18, 2013 – Saudis say they have “no relations, contacts with Israel at any level.” Saudi Arabia has denied on Monday working with Israel on contingency plans for a potential attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. On Monday, a Saudi foreign ministry spokesman said the kingdom “has no relations or contacts with Israel of any kind or at any level,’ according to state news agency SPA.

While in Tel Aviv:

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said in an interview with French daily Le Figaro on Saturday that there is a “meeting of the minds” between Israel and the “leading states in the Arab world” on the Iran issue – “one of the few cases in memory, if not the first case in modern times.” “We all think that Iran should not be allowed to have the capacities to make nuclear weapons,” he said. “We all think that a tougher stance should be taken by the international community. We all believe that if Iran were to have nuclear weapons, this could lead to a nuclear arms race in the Middle East, making the Middle East a nuclear tinderbox.” Saying that an Iran with nuclear arms would be the most dangerous development for the world since the mid-20th century, and stressing that the “stakes are amazing,” Netanyahu urged the world’s leaders to pay attention “when Israel and the Arabs see eye-to-eye.” Israel does not have any diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia. – Jerusalem Post

The Saudis have a nuclear capability because of collaboration with France and Israel. The Paki connection is a false lead to keep eyes off the real culprits.

More bluff & subterfuge, they are both best mates with the USA, they both are armed by the USA (apart for the stuff Israel builds its self) and they are both up to their necks in Syria.

Hence the word "supposedly".

Saudi-Israeli liaison will come to nothing: Duff

Plots by Saudi Arabia and Israel to destabilize Syria and the Middle East are doomed to failure due to the recent developments in the region and beyond, a political analyst tells Press TV.

In a Friday interview, Gordon Duff pointed to Riyadh and Tel Aviv’s conspiracies to trigger crises in Syria and across Middle East, adding, “This love affair between the Saudis and the Israelis is not going to weather the changes in the Middle East that are going on.”

He pointed to US’ growing criticism of Israeli measures vis-à-vis Palestine, the prospects of a thaw in relations between Tehran and Washington, the Syrian government’s military gains against foreign-backed militants in the country and a new American and Russian outlook on Syria as some of the indications that the scenario of destabilizing the Middle East “is going to come to naught.”

The remarks come against the backdrop of reports about Saudi Arabia’s plan to finance a so-called transitional government in Syria and the US criticism of Israel’s nonstop settlement expansion in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Saudi Arabia has reportedly earmarked USD 300 million to finance a so-called transitional government in Syria, which is planned to be set up by the foreign-sponsored opposition.

Riyadh’s plan comes despite the initiative by Russia and the US to convene an international conference on Syria, which will serve as a sequel to an earlier Geneva meeting held in June 2012.

Meanwhile, Israel and Saudi Arabia have devoted extensive efforts to hampering a potential agreement between Iran and six major world powers over issues surrounding Tehran’s nuclear energy program.

While both negotiating parties have expressed satisfaction over the “substantive progress” they made during the Geneva talks and their optimism over the prospect of striking a deal in the near future, Israel has repeatedly warned against the consequences of such an agreement and threatened to take unilateral action against Iran.

Meanwhile, observers believe that a planned arms deal between France and Saudi Arabia as well as Israel’s lobbying was the main reason behind Paris’ objection to the nuclear deal which was close to being reached in the recent Geneva talks.

The next round of the negotiations between Iran and the six countries is also slated to be held in Geneva on November 20.

I think Duff is mistaking what governments say for what they do, very rarely are they the same thing at all.
