I have spent my whole life in California so I have been through many earthquakes...including the one at a couple of minutes to 4 this morning. It was centered 5 miles west of Templeton about 20 miles(as the crow flies) from my house. It did jolt and a second later another jolt and then sway. My old ticker apparently thought it was something to be frightened of but settled down in no time. It registered 4.2 on their scale. Normally when I feel a quake I can look up the event online in just a couple of minutes...this morning it took 15 minutes to report. All is well, no damage here.
