- There would be a human exploration crew on Mars, who would be relaying scientific information about the planet to the population of Earth, and who would be capable of terraforming Mars (to a limited extent).
- For the first time ever, the aforementioned specimens of the human species would discover for themselves what it means to have to fight for one's survival, and that one's chances are at their best if one collaborates with others, as opposed to exploiting them and waging war on one another. So we would actually be doing them a favor by stimulating their intellectual and spiritual development.
- The average IQ of the Martian population would go up by about 80 points. And so would the average IQ of the population of Earth.
- It's a one-way trip. They won't be able to come back. (We'd have to have a word with Elon Musk first to make sure of that, of course. )
